ICE Torbay run ‘ICE Club’ at lunchtime in a number of local primary schools.
They’ve proved very popular and are well received by both the children attending and the school staff.
The clubs are free of charge and we offer 30-40 mins of biblically themed activities such as craft; practical activities; video clips; reflection; group games and varying opportunities to work individually or as part of the group.
ICE Clubs tend to be geared towards children in Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2 (5-9 year olds).
We normally offer the opportunity for children to attend for an academic year , allowing the building of a trusting relationship along with opportunities to explore a range of topics.
An example of a Biblical theme might be the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Those attributes the Holy Spirit wants to develop in the lives of people who love and follow Jesus and we’d cover one per week. The lunch clubs tend to be geared towards those children in Key Stage Years 1 and 2. Each week the children make a craft to help remember each one and recently we’ve been sharing together about what brings us joy.
